Friday night: Smith Westerns, Plexi 3, Estrogen Highs, Garbo's Daughter. Saturday day:
Jacuzzi Boys, Melted Sunglasses, Slippery Slopes, Brian's Dirty Business, Lil Daggers. Saturday night: Hibachi Stranglers, TeePee, Dead Luke, Psychedelic Horseshit. Sunday day: Ghost Hospital, Electric Bunnies, Pink Reason.

By the Sunday day show, most of the out of towners had left Orlando leaving a small handful of people. Tampa Bay indie pop band Ghost Hospital played first. I had not heard them before. It was a pleasant surprise to see a pop band at a rock/punk fest. You can tell these guys and gal know all about mid 90's indie rock like Small Factory and Tullycraft. I'm sure all those punk dudes call this "weird punk". It's kind of an odd tag to receive but I'm sure it's not cool for "tough" guys to like twee pop bands. It's not weird - it's pop.

Next up were Miami's Electric Bunnies, another Eric Zareno band. They are a band I've found hard to get into. I've seen them three times now and this was definitely the best but I'm still not sold. However, they did pull off a one-note song (I think it was an "A" but my memory fades me) and it was quite a sight to see and hear.

The last band to play World's Gone Wiggly was Pink Reason, which is a project from Psychedelic Horseshit's drummer, Kevin. He sings lead and plays guitar. His backing band was Electric Bunnies. As you can guess, I wasn't going to like this band either. It's more palatable than Psychedelic Horseshit but that may be mainly due to the fact that Eric Zareno did some great things on guitar and saxophone. He played the sax until he only ended up with a reed in his mouth. The last song they did, ruled because of him.

Even though I thought most of this festival was hit or miss, the hits will always outweigh the misses in my book. The top performances by Plexi 3, TeePee, Smith Westerns and Jacuzzi Boys were sights and sounds to behold. A lot of time was put into this festival - it was totally an ambitious (and risky) project on Rich Evans' part to put together so many bands that aren't well known. It may be hard to gather a following starting up from a micro scene. This may leave a mark on those who attended.
