In May 2010 Michelle Widmer was involved in a car accident while riding in a car on I-4 by a drunk driver going in the wrong direction. The collision ripped off the entire passenger side of the car, including Michelles right arm. I remember hearing about the accident the morning it happened on the radio but not until recently find out it was Michelle.

To those in the Orlando area, especially the music community, know Michelle for being the bartender at Copper Rocket for a number of years. She's a tough-no bullshit kind of gal. I've seen her grab dudes by the collar and throw them out by the curbside.

There's a benefit show for her Thursday August 19th at the Social at 7pm. The bands playing are Happy Valley, Swamplord, The Actomatics and The Ludes. It's a free event but, ya know, it's not really free so bring a donation.

In 2006 she formed a band called Bitch Hips for the now infamous Rock Fight competition at Back Booth enlisting Kristin Messina on drums, Jeanie Peaden on guitar and her Christine (a roller derby gal) on bass. This was their one and only show. You can listen to their entire three song set right here. And damn if her songs aren't super catchy.
